Long-term study proves superiority of MAGNEZIX®

A 3-year clinical comparative study of the Hannover Medical School (MHH) will be published shortly.

The results of a 3-year clinical comparative study of titanium and magnesium implants at the Hannover Medical School (MHH) will be published shortly.* The study not only proves the long-term non-inferiority of MAGNEZIX® over titanium implants, but also shows clearly the basic advantages of this technology:

  • AVOIDANCE OF METAL REMOVAL (2nd OPERATION)
Complete elimination of a second intervention for metal removal in the MAGNEZIX® group.
  • FORMATION OF BONE
In the position of the MAGNEZIX® Implant a hypointense structure was found indicating a mineralized structure most probably similar to cortical bone
  • SUBSTANTIALLY LESS PAIN
0 patients of the Mg group reported residual pain, but three of the Ti group.
No implant-related cysts and no swelling or chronic inflammation in the Mg group were observed.
  • LESS RADIOLOGICAL ARTIFACTS
Magnesium implants showed significantly fewer artifacts on MRI.
Titanium implants cause artifacts on the CT, interfere with the assessment of adjacent areas or tissue structures and complicate a correct diagnosis.
  • COMPLETELY RECOVERED ACTIVITY LEVEL
All patients reached their preoperative activity level.
The period for full recovery was 13-14 weeks.
  • HIGH RECOMMENDATION AND SATISFACTION
All patients in the Mg group would undergo surgery again and recommend it to others.
All patients in the Mg group were very satisfied or satisfied with the surgery and its outcome.
