Syntellix is "Innovator of the Year 2017"

Awarded: Syntellix is at the forefront of the innovation leaders of medium-sized enterprises.

For the 24th time the innovation leaders of medium-sized companies were awarded with the "TOP 100" seal. Syntellix AG is at the forefront.

The company from Hannover reached the 1st place in its class A (company up to 50 employees). The mentor of the TOP 100 competition, the science journalist and TV presenter Ranga Yogeshwar, honored the company as part of the award ceremony for the 4th "German middle class Summit" on 23 June 2017 in Essen. Edelgard Bulmahn, vice-president of the German Bundestag, gave the laudation to the prize-winner.

Clearly structured innovation processes, a fertile innovation climate and above-average innovation successes characterize the TOP 100 companies. Close cooperation with external partners and customers is also part of their daily business. In this highly challenging environment, Syntellix AG shows outstanding qualities.

According to the TOP 100 jury, "Syntellix AG, founded in 2008, is the world's first company to develop a metal-based bone screw (magnesium alloy) that dissolves in the body after healing. Since the first approval of the patented technology in 2013, the company has achieved impressive market successes: by the end of 2017, approximately 70,000 implants have been used in 45 countries.

With its innovation, the company is proving to be a service to mankind in two respects: Firstly, it eliminates the often necessary second surgery for the removal of conventional metal screws, which relieves patients. On the other hand, the health care system benefits from cost savings of around one billion Euros per year in Germany alone. Compared to other bioabsorbable implants, the material of Syntellix has a far higher stability and better bio compatibility.

In summary, Syntellix can be described as a highly professional, agile start-up company, which has succeeded in developing a world-first novelty for surgery with enormous market potential, in particular through an impressive network and partnet management. The company's development could serve as a blueprint for a guide ,how to start a med tech start-up'"", according to the jury's verdict.
